Delhi’s biggest trekking and adventure trail of 11 km length will soon be built in the floodplain area on the eastern side of the Yamuna. LG VK Saxena on Tuesday laid the foundation stone of Delhi’s first trekking and adventure trail near Signature Bridge. It is being constructed by the Echo Battalion of the Territorial Army. This track will be completely kaccha road.

This 11-km track, being built in the floodplain of the eastern bank of the Yamuna, will pass through a variety of trees, meadows, and colorful flowers. This track will extend till Asita on ITO Barrage. This entire track will be green and will pass through Garhi Mandu, Shastri Park, Old Railway Bridge, Geeta Colony Bridge, Asita till ITO Barrage.

LG presented the concept of rejuvenation and revival of floodplain of Yamuna. He said that the flood plain of Yamuna should be developed in such a way where the people of Delhi can associate themselves with it and become partners in the revival of Yamuna. With this objective, Yamuna is being rejuvenated.

In this episode, triple grid plantation (enough space between rows of trees) campaign was carried out till Asita, Bansera, Garhi Mandu and Bela Park. Whereas Kudsia Ghat was developed and now the foundation stone of Trekking Adventure Trail has been laid. Territorial Army battalions in association with civic agencies are carrying out cleaning work in the Yamuna floodplains. It has effectively prevented dumping of waste in the Yamuna floodplain.
